

He was born in Seagraves, Texas to Jay and Nell Newton on August 12, 1943.
Jimmy graduated from Smyer High School.
He was married to Charlotte Newton on November 1, 1963.
Jimmy was a business owner and salesman all his life. He was one of the founders of Lubbock Gasket & Supply and that grew to Arrow Bearings and Nammco Machine. In 2011 he sold Lubbock Gasket and Arrow Bearing to concentrate on Nammco Machine.
He was a Master Mason in the Grand Lodge of Texas, Yellowhouse Lodge #841, a Shriner and Duffer.
He had a passion for fishing, hunting, camping, woodworking, designing new products and mostly his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Charlotte, daughter Jamie Newton, brother Jerry Newton, brother Mike Newton, and sister Shirley Newton.
He is survived by daughter Jill McDonald and husband Edwin of Lubbock, grandson Corey McDonald (Chase) of Lubbock, and granddaughter Baylie McDonald of Lubbock along with many cousins and nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Wedgewood South Assisted Living along with Grayce Enhanced Hospice Care.
Funeral Services for Jimmy will be held on Friday, August 22nd, at 11 o'clock AM at Resthaven Funeral Home's Abbey Chapel with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
