

James Christopher “Chris” Ward, lovingly known as Chris, was born on December 8, 1939, to James Elvis Ward and Berneice Ward. He lived a life defined by devotion to family, simple joys, and a heart that was generous and kind. His passing leaves behind cherished memories that will live on in all who knew and loved him.
Chris was a caring, compassionate, and deeply loving man whose presence brought comfort and warmth to those around him. He found happiness in life’s simple pleasures, and anyone who knew him will smile remembering his love for peanuts.
He proudly served in the United States Army Reserves for two years, demonstrating his dedication and sense of duty to his country.
Chris shared 44 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Dana. Their marriage was built on love, friendship, and unwavering support. Chris was Dana’s biggest cheerleader and lovingly considered himself her coach. He took great pride in her accomplishments and never missed an opportunity to brag about her successes. Their bond was one of admiration, encouragement, and enduring partnership.
Chris was the proud father of Christi Lusk. He treasured his role as a father and carried love for his daughter throughout his life.
Family meant everything to Chris. He shared a special bond with his mother-in-law, Mikey Holloway, whose company he truly cherished. He enjoyed spending time with her and valued the moments they shared together. He also shared a close relationship with his brother-in-law, Randy Holloway, and remained devoted to his sister, Amanda Ward.
Chris loved golfing and found joy both in the game and in the camaraderie that came with it. Whether on the course or surrounded by family, he was happiest when spending time with those he loved.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Dana; his daughter, Christi Lusk; his sister, Amanda Ward; and his brother-in-law, Randy Holloway and his mother-in-law Mikey Holloway.
A visitation will be held Monday, March 9th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 10:00 a.m. on March 10th at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Chris will be remembered for his kind spirit, his humor, his loyalty, and the steady love he gave so freely. His life was measured not in grand gestures, but in everyday acts of devotion and encouragement. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
