Jan was a lifelong United States Marine who proudly and actively served his country for 20 years. True to his work ethic, after military service he went on to run a Mac Tools company and later worked for Geo Search as a permit agent. Of all his accomplishments, however, Jan considered his most important roles to be those of husband, father, and “Grandjan” to the children he loved so dearly.
Jan was preceded in death by his father, John W. Romick; his mother, Meredith Shively Romick Gleckler; his stepfather, Fredrick Gleckler; his first wife, Sandra Harris Romick; his second wife, Linda Wilks Romick; and his stepdaughter, Marla Judd.
He is survived by his sons, Todd Romick and John Romick; his stepson, Garey Judd; his grandchildren, Talon Romick, Shane Romick, Cale Romick, Jared Judd, and Adrin Belin; and his greatgrandchildren, Emma Romick and Dani Romick.
Jan’s greatest passion was the desert and the sand dunes of California and Arizona, where he raced and played in his dune buggy. He always bled khaki—rough around the edges, steadfast in loyalty—but he loved his family, his friends, and his country to the fullest. Those who knew him understood his heart was as big as the desert he loved.
We know Jan would want to see all of you one last time before his final journey.
