Jerry Hinson

Jerry Thad Hinson, at the age of 88, passed away in the early morning hours of May 10th, 2023. He resided at Lynwood Nursing Home in Levelland Texas. Jerry had lived at his home in Levelland Texas for over 15 years. Prior to that, he spent the majority of his life in Meadow Texas.

Jerry served as the rural mail carrier in west Texas for all of his adult life. In his younger years he served in the army and the reserves until he was honorably discharged in 1962, before returning to his home in Meadow Texas. Jerry was an avid golfer and loved all dogs. He swore that all his dogs over the years found him. Over the years he shared many hilarious stories of his childhood capers with his brother and sisters. If he wasn’t on the golf course, then he was reading or watching his favorite tv westerns.

Jerry is survived by his daughter Katrina Slaughter, her husband Greg Slaughter, their son Jacob Slaughter; daughter Karen Hinson, her two sons Zach and Chad Vaughan; Jerry also leaves behind his three sisters Joyce Van Landingham, June Fore and Janice Hinson and many nieces and nephews. His brother JR Hinson preceded him in death.
