Jimmy Lee Easter, of Lubbock, passed away on September 25, 2016 at the age of 65. He was born on March 11, 1951 in Marietta, Georgia, to C.A. and Elsie (Smith) Easter. He married Phyllis (Solomon) in 1977 in Colorado City, Texas.
Jimmy loved golfing, camping, gardening, horse races and all sports, especially Texas Tech. He enjoyed playing with his children and grandchildren, fixing things around the house and hanging out with Mya and Chiquita watching classic westerns. Most of all he was a family man and his love showed by the devotion he had for his sweetheart, Phyllis. As his health deteriorated, he and his family made many special memories and took advantage of the last two years they shared together.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Phyllis, months shy of 40 years of marriage; sons, Brad (Sara) Easter of Arlington, Trent (Nella) Easter, of Midland; daughters, Joni (Cole) Hutson, of Lubbock and Lexi Easter of Arlington; 6 grandsons, Caleb, Connor, Rhett, Cooper, Dane and Nathan; Mother, Elsie Easter of Lubbock ; two brothers, Tommy Easter, of Shallowater and Billy Easter, of Wolfforth. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, his precious puppies and his “other daughter” Amanda Jean.
He is preceded in death by his father and brother Jackie Easter. Knowing his love for Texas Tech football, and that his services will take place on Game Day, friends and family are encourage to wear red and black in his memory.
