A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Indiana Ave. Baptist Church with Pastor Steve McMeans officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
Jimmy was born August 31, 1933 in Tahoka, TX. He graduated from Lamesa High School in May 1950 and attended 3 years at Texas Tech. He worked at the State Comptrollers Office, Texas Department of Agriculture, and the Texas Employment Commission. He was a member of Indiana Ave. Baptist Church. He enjoyed golf, fishing, and sports.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents J.B. and Merle Taylor; daughter Terri Lynn; and sister Nancy Norris.
Survivors include his wife Sue Taylor; daughter Sheila Weekly; granddaughter Jillian Weekly; brother Alan Taylor of Lubbock; sister Jan Walters (Kenneth) of Lubbock, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Association.
