John Furtado Duke, 100 was born on November 9, 1911 in New Bedford, MA. Passed away on May 3, 2012 and a resident of Lubbock, TX for 30 years. John was a former big band leader, author, and avid golfer and businessman. He was preceded in death by his wife Katherine and is survived by his sister, Marie Andrande, nephew and great-niece, Raymond and Christy Andrande, nephew, Peter and wife Lavonne Norton great-nephew Robert Reader and great-niece Rachella Norton-Stamps. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 pm. to 7 pm. at the funeral home with a funeral service on Thursday at 12 noon in Resthaven’s Mausoleum Chapel.
