

John Charles Fox, III was born February 13, 1949 in Hollywood, California and joined God on March 11, 2021. In his 72 years of life, John made everyone he met smile and laugh with his quick wit. Waiting for John in Heaven, are his parents John C and Betty Fox, granddaughter Haily Fox, and Aunt Margaret Ochoa.
Surviving are his wife, Sarah M Fox, son, John C. Fox, IV, great granddaughter, Savannah. In addition, dear and close friends Mastin and Janet Sillin, Ralph and Gail Secketa, The Clevenger Family, and his fur baby Maddie.
John's childhood was spent visiting his Nana, playing on the beach, fishing with his Dad, and playing table games with his mother Betty.
In High School, he played chess, collected baseball cards, and attended Dodger Baseball games. John graduated from Rolling Hills High School and San Diego State University. He served 11 years as a First Lieutenant in the US Air Force during the Viet Nam War as the paymaster.
John married Kathy Stewart in the 70's and had a son, John Charles Fox, IV. The Air Force moved them to Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, and back to Texas. He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Master of Science.
John's career was with GTE and Verizon Telephone for 28 years where he was the recipient of Peer Achievement Awards. In the 1990's, he enjoyed the Dallas Symphony, Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. In addition, he traveled extensively with his mother to Europe and with his wife, Sarah to Italy and Israel.
Hobbies were a big part of John's life playing cards and board games with his friends, the Sillins and Secketas. He collected Disney sericells, kem cards, model trains, and coins. Weekly, John could be spotted at the theatre watching the lasted release. He volunteered for Lubbock Meals on Wheels and the video ministry for Oakwood United Methodist Church.
A Gathering will be March 30, 2021 at 5:00 pm with the memorial service at 6:00 pm. All events will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 5740 W.19th Street, Lubbock, Texas 79407. A graveside service will be at the McLean Community Cemetery at a later date.
