John Edmond Long Jr.

Services will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on August 18, 2014 at 1 P.M. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at

Resthaven on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at 6 P.M.

John was born in Paris, Texas to John Edmond, Sr. and Alice Long on July 21, 1928. He attended Paris High School. John was an auto mechanic his entire life and prior to retiring, owned his own business in Lubbock. John is best remembered for his kind heart and his willingness to help his friends and neighbors in any way he could.

John is survived by his wife of 67 years, Melva, son Michael Long and wife Nancy of Denver, daughter Pam Cosby and husband Don of Fort Worth, four grandchildren; John Bucker, Joanna Jose, Ashley Gray, and Cole Cosby and five great grandchildren; Allison, Julia and Bradley Jose and Corbin and Piper Gray and many other loving relatives. John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alice.
