John “Dubber” Myatt passed away Monday June 25, 2012 in his home in Lubbock following a brief illness. He was born March 21, 1975 in John and Beverly Myatt in Lubbock. John went to the Brownfield ISD from kindergarten thru his sophomore years and then attended Monterey High School in Lubbock his junior and senior years. He continued his education at the Harley Davidson School in Phoenix then attended Kansas State University in Harley Davidson Mechanics. He also went to flight school and received his private pilot’s license.
John is survived by his son, Michael of Lubbock; mother and stepfather, Beverly and John Burson of Roswell, NM; brother, Corey Cutright of Hobbs, NM; 3 stepbrothers, Jay, Cody and Rocky Burson all of Roswell, NM; stepsister, Amy Bailey of Lubbock; Aunt, Shirley Bowington of Helena, MT; uncle, Steve and wife Kathy Myatt and children Phillip and Nicholas of Waco, TX. He was preceded in death by his father, John Michael Myatt; grandparents, Max and Betty Myatt; Ralph and Thelma Bowington.
A memorial service will be held Saturday June 30 at 1 pm in the Abbey Chapel of Resthaven Funeral Home.
