Josephine (Jo) Gloria Barrett Schulz

Josephine (Jo) Gloria Barrett Schulz, 91 , of Lubbock went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Sunday March 19, 2017. She was born on July 6th , 1925 in Earth, Texas to the late J.W. Barrett and Fannie Elizabeth McCalip. She married Eugene Carl Schulz on January 17, 1947. Jo had eight brothers and sisters who were very close.

Jo grew up in Cotton Center, Texas and graduated High School in 1944. She received her Business Certificate from Draughn’s Business School in Lubbock in 1947. Jo was active in many community events throughout her life and enjoying serving others in many capacities of her life.

She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren especially their sports activities.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Eugene Schulz, three brothers, Daniel Barrett, Doug Barrett and Calvin Barrett two sisters, Faye Bartlett and Darlene Ashby.

Those left to cherish her memory are three sisters Virginia Barrett Easley of Dumas, Trudy Downs of Lubbock and Wanda Horsford and her husband Ed of Abernathy. Her children - son Ronald Schulz and wife Alice of Lubbock, Edwin (Eddie) Schulz and wife Priscilla of Lubbock, Sharon Ryan and husband Pat of Oklahoma City. Grand Daughters - Dana Swanson and husband Chris of Oklahoma City, Lisa Granato and husband David of Oklahoma City , Dawnette Schulz of Lubbock, and Stephanie West and husband Jake of Lubbock and Grandsons - Seth Schulz and wife Chelsea of Lubbock, Tanner Schulz and wife Molly of Midland and Eight great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews.

Jo was a wonderful caring, sweet and dignified person and will be missed greatly by all who she touched in her life.
