Born February 2, 1937 in Fort Sumner NM to Cleo J. and Wyndol Ola (True) Widner. Joyce grew up Northwest of Melrose NM, attending school in Melrose. Joyce became a Christian at the age of 12. Joyce met Calvin Wallace who was stationed at Cannon AFB at the time, and was married in 1957. Joyce and Calvin had four sons; Bill, Gene, Donald and Randall. Being a miliary family she spent time in San Antonio Texas, Tokyo Japan and Hickam AFB Hawaii. After Calvin retired from the Air Force, Calvin and Joyce moved to Aurora Colorado where Calvin worked. In each of the places they lived, Joyce was actively involved in the local church as well as numerous charitable programs through the churches such as teaching English as a second language classes, Hospitality Committee, etc. After Calvin retired from his second career, they moved to Lubbock to be closer to family.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Calvin, her son Bill, both parents and her three siblings, among other family members. She is survived by her three youngest sons and their spouses, Rebecca Wallace, seven grandchildren and six great-grand children.
