Juan Luis Herrera Sr.

September 24, 1963 – May 21, 2025

Juan Luis Herrera Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on May 21, 2025, at the age of 61.

Juan was born in Kenedy, Texas, on September 24, 1963, and made his home in Lubbock, Texas, where he built a life rooted in love, family, and loyalty. He was married to Irma Garcia Herrera,and together they created a strong and close-knit family. Juan was a proud and devoted father to Juan (Haylee) Herrera, Veronica (Peter) Lopez ,Rayonn Herrera ,Roger Cortez, Stephanie Cortez (Jeremy Campos), Ashley Cortez (Jeremy Lawson), and Amanda (Kevin) Salazar.

He was a loving grandfather to 14 grandchildren and held each one close to his heart.

Juan was preceded in death by his parents, Eulalia “Lala” and Teodoro “Lolo” Herrera; his grandson, A’Darrion Lee Cortez; two sisters; and many other cherished extended family members.

He will be remembered for his unwavering support for his children, his generous spirit, and his warm, loving heart. Juan was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan and always enjoyed cheering on his team with pride. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched and the family he loved so deeply.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

There will be no services as that was his wish.
