Mrs. LaVerne Brown Snyder, 95, of Jacksonville, Florida, died in the early morning of April 30. Services will be held in the Mausolem Chapel at Resthaven Memorial Park, W. 19th St., Lubbock, Texas, at 11 AM on May 9. Visitation will take place one hour prior to service.
Mrs. Snyder was born in Carbon, Texas in 1916, the only child of James Frank Brown and Ella Broughton Brown. She grew up in Levelland, Texas, and graduated from Peabody Institute. Mrs. Snyder taught music and raised a family in Frederick, Maryland. Her former husband, Dr. Thomas Legran Snyder, died in 1986.
Survivors are two sons: George Snyder, Harvard, Massachusetts; and Mark Snyder, Jacksonville, Florida; and a grandson: Derek Broughton Snyder, Jacksonville.
