Lila Adams

Lila Adams, 86 years of age, passed on Thursday, July 27, 2012 at Lubbock Heart Hospital of pneumonia. Lila was born on February 13, in New Boston, Texas to the late Cecil and Odie Chasteen. She was the oldest of three sisters, who preceded her in death.

Lila was educated in the New Boston School System in Texas. After a career as a telephone operator and a hair dresser, Lila married the late John Adams on January 30, 1947 and a son was born from this union. The couple moved to Lubbock, Texas, where they built a life together.

She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who nurtured and cared for all of those around her. Her presence made life richer for everyone around her. She loved to quilt and delight others with her delicious cooking. She cherished spending time with family and friends. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, and friend, always thinking of others first. Her charisma and honesty created an energy that would fill a room with joy and laughter.

Lila leaves to cherish her loving memory her son, Ronnie Adams; 2 granddaughters, 2 great-grandsons, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation for Lila will be at Resthaven Funeral Home on Monday, July 30th from 6-8pm and a graveside service will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park on Tuesday, July 31st at 10am. Condolences may be offered at www.resthavenfuneralhome.com
