October 7, 1955 – April 25, 2026
Lloyd D. Green was a man of quiet, steady kindness — a tinkerer at heart, a legend in the amateur radio community, and a devoted husband who loved deeply and without condition.
Born in Lubbock, Texas, Lloyd discovered early a gift for understanding how things worked — radios, circuits, computers, antennas. That curiosity never left him. He became a skilled machinist, computer programmer, and ham radio operator, but what set Lloyd apart wasn’t just his knowledge — it was his insistence on sharing it. He had a rare ability to light a spark in others, guiding countless people through their ham radio licensing exams and troubleshooting everything from antennas to hard drives with equal enthusiasm.
Lloyd is survived by his beloved wife Angela; his twin brother Floyd; brothers Sydney and Johnny Rawlins; sons Brian, Kevin, and Chris; daughters Renee and Heather; stepsons Joshua MacFie and Richard Fay; stepdaughter Margaret Fay; and numerous grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Green and Melverda LeMond, and his son Jessie.
Those who knew Lloyd described him the same way, without being asked to agree: a man who would lend a hand to anyone, who loved his wife through everything, who showed up. For decades he was a steady, grounding presence for his family — dependable when life was anything but, and always more interested in solving your problem than talking about his own.
He will be remembered at radio frequencies and kitchen tables alike
— wherever people gather to figure something out, or simply need someone in their corner.
73, Lloyd. AD5EZ — Silent Key.
