Lorna was born September 14, 1957, in Amarillo, Texas, to Fred and Doris Givens. Her childhood and teenage years were spent in various cities across the country, from North Carolina to California; as an adult she traveled in Europe, spent time in Puerto Rico, and lived in Oregon, but her heart was always in Texas.
Lorna attended both Abilene Christian College and South Plains College and earned multiple certifications; however, she was never defined by her career. Instead, she was defined by her kindness, her eclectic interests, and her brilliant sense of humor. She delighted in making puns, particularly the kind that would elicit eye-rolls and groans from her children. She loved animals, classic rock, jewelry, flip-flops, and ‘Jeopardy!’ You could not beat her at trivia. She was selfless and patient, always most comfortable lifting up others.
She is survived by her two children, Rachel Berlingeri and husband Nicholas Bonventre, and Michael Berlingeri and wife Kirsten Williams; her brother Randal Givens and wife Carol; her sister Cathy Givens; nieces Mary Gould and husband Brian, and Anna Givens; and great-niece Aletheia Joy Gould.
