Celebration of life services for Robert Lawrence Copeland (Lynn) of Lubbock will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel with Rev. Meryle Fulmer officiating. The Copeland Family will be accepting friends at 3:30 pm.
Lynn passed from this life Thursday, June 13. Lynn was the second child of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Copeland of Oklahoma. During his life, Lynn loved and cherished his two sons, David and Lance, as well as his lovely wife Paula Walter Copeland. Lynn took pride in taking care of Paula as she battled eight long years of cancer. After her passing, Lynn lived his life cherishing her memory with his sons and spending time with his family. When Lance passed away last year, Lynn dedicated himself to living life to the fullest and enjoyed several trips to Ruidoso, New Mexico. It seemed as though Lynn recently rediscovered a spirit for life, but leaves this world to reunite with his wife, son, and other family members. Undoubtedly, they are rejoicing together at the gates of Heaven and welcoming him with laughs, tears, kisses, and open arms. He has arrived safely home.
Not only was Lynn a wonderful father and husband, he was a successful business owner with an extensive resume. After serving our country in the Air Force for several years, Lynn went to work for Interstate Securities. Thereafter Lynn served as Vice President of First National Bank until he transformed into a successful business owner. As owner of Huber's Pawn and several other businesses prior, Lynn was well-respected and extremely successful. Lynn leaves this life a legacy in business of integrity, pride, honor, and loyalty.
Those left to treasure the memory are his son, David, of Lubbock; brother, Boyd and wife Phyllis of Tulsa, OK.; grandsons, Chad Copeland of Jersey City, NJ., and Tyler Copeland of Charlotte, NC.; nieces and nephews, Mike Copeland, Greg Copeland, Stacy Copeland, Tammy Copeland, and Alan Copeland, all of Oklahoma, Michael Johnson, Shannon Martin and Wesley Martin, all of Dallas, Brooke Hlavaty, Paige Tarver, Payne Tarver, and Laney Crocker, all of Lubbock; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Pam Hlavaty, Paul and Penny Tarver, and Rocky and Poni Crocker, all of lubbock, and Al and Pris Johnson of Dallas; and best friends, Brian and Gus. He is preceded in death by his parents, Boyd Sr. and Eva Copeland; his wife, Paula Copeland; his son, Lance Copeland; and his brother, Charlie Copeland.
The family suggests me-morials be made to the Joe Arrington Cancer Center at 4101 22nd Place, Lubbock, Texas 79410.
