Marjorie Ann Moore, age 78, entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. She was born on November 1, 1936, in Pampa, Texas, a daughter to the late Doyle and Vela Roundtree. She graduated from Pampa High School in 1955, and married the late Buddy Eugene Moore on November 24, 1955, in Pampa, Texas. Marjorie always had an abundant love for children and spent many years teaching children’s Sunday School as well as sharing God’s Word as an instructor of Bible class for preschoolers at Southwest Private School. Among her many talents, Marjorie was an excellent seamstress and baker. She enjoyed making beautiful clothes not only for her family but also for the public. Marjorie would readily acknowledge that she had an incredible “sweet tooth” and will be lovingly remembered for her ever-present supply of homemade baked goods. Her “made-from-scratch” pies, cakes, and cobblers will be missed by all who knew her. Of all her accomplishments, Marjorie’s greatest achievements have been in the lives of her family and friends. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and humble demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many. She had a unique gift to make those around her feel loved and lifted by her presence. Her kind and generous heart, along with her beautiful smile, filled her home with love, fun, family and friends, including an attitude that there was always room for one more. She leaves all her children and grandchildren with the knowledge that they were truly loved and they know that she loved her Lord. She was a woman of faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ’s love and the beauty and peace that would await her. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Doyle and Vela Roundtree, and by her beloved husband of 59 years, Buddy Moore, in May of 2014. She leaves loving memories to be cherished by her son, Mark Moore; her daughter, Debbie Couch and husband Brent; her son, Greg Moore and wife Suzette, all of Lubbock; her granddaughters, Brittany Couch of Lubbock and Haley Couch of Denver, CO; Jill Gibson and husband Seth of Abilene, TX; her grandsons, Craig and Kyle Moore of Carrolton, TX; her sister, Carol Knowlton and brother-in-law Jim of Oakland, TN; her sister-in-law, Nancy Brown of Amarillo, TX; and numerous other extended family and treasured friends. Graveside services will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park on Saturday, April 18th, at 3 P.M., officiated by Dr. Barry Stephens and Andy Turner. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Home of Lubbock, 4404 Idalou Rd., Lubbock, TX 79403.
