

Mark Massingill, 71, of Lubbock passed away at home, surrounded by family, on Saturday, February 9, 2025. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at 10 am in the Abbey Chapel at Resthaven.
Mark was born March 17, 1953 to Billy and Maureen (McCormick) Massingill in Big Spring, TX.
After leaving West Texas University in Canyon, TX, he began working with his father at Massingill and Son Construction Co. and he married Cindy Kiser of Levelland, TX. They built a life and family in Levelland. One of his proudest accomplishments was being the father to his daughter, Laurie. He was a partner and co-owner of Well-Co Oil Service Inc. based in Levelland and Brownfield, TX, which operated 82 rigs in the northern Permian Basin in west Texas. Mark was a hard working, stubborn, and extremely generous man. He was full of surprises, with a green thumb and an entrepreneurial spirit. He scuba dived, hunted quail, and loved his bird dog, Bo. He was a humble man, but had a flare for impulsive extravagance that brought joy to many. He traveled the world with his sister and best friend, Lynn. Mark knew how to have a good time! He loved his family, and doted especially on his daughter and granddaughters.
He is preceded in death by his father, Billy Massingill. Mark left behind many who loved him dearly. He is mourned by; mother, Maureen McCutchin; sister, Lynn Massingill; many friends, including former wife, Cindy Eastup; daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Austin Adkins; and two beautiful granddaughters - the newest lights of his life.
