

Ann Puryear passed away and went home to be with her Lord and savior on Feb 3, 2022. A celebration of her life will be held at St. Luke’s United Methodist on February 26, 2022, at 1 pm; officiated by Andy Hurst and Matt Wolfington. A graveside service will immediately follow at Resthaven Cemetery.Ann was born on July 16, 1945, in Lubbock, Texas, and was adopted by William Alton and Geraldine Strickland of Lubbock, Texas in 1948. She graduated from Lubbock Monterey High School and attended Wayland Baptist University. She was married to Jerry Rogers on January 2, 1976. She was a long-respected member of the legal community in Lubbock; spending 35 years as a legal secretary and judicial administrator for multiple attorneys, the City of Lubbock, the State of Texas, and the US Government. She was a winner of the Legal Secretary of the year award on multiple occasions. She was preceded in death by her first husband Jerry Rogers but married her long-time friend Cecil Puryear on November 3, 2000.She was a volunteer at St. Luke’s UMC - Lubbock, and a member of the Harmony Sunday School class for 22 years.Survivors include her husband Cecil Puryear, son Cory Don (Lauren) Rogers, stepsons, Richard Dale (Pam) Puryear, Scott D. (Marie) Puryear, and 10 grandkids; Madeleine, Carson, Junah, Makenna, Graham, Rylan, Brittany, Destiny, Miles, Ella.She was preceded in death by her parents, William Alton and Geraldine Strickland, her first husband Jerry Rogers, her brother William Alton (Bill) Strickland Jr., and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.Friends are invited to share memories and expressions of sympathy for the family to cherish by signing the guest registry.
