Mary Elizabeth Shaffer

Mary Elizabeth Shaffer, age 94, of Lubbock, died Tuesday, January 05, 2016. She was born August 10, 1921 in Lockney, Texas, to the late John and Lucy Broyles. She was a graduate of the Rice Institute and worked as an educator for the Lubbock Independent School District. She married Garmer C. Shaffer, July 07, 1943, in Houston, Texas. She proudly volunteered for the Covenant Health System Auxiliary-Lakeside; logging over 10,500 hours serving on the board and scholarship committee.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Garmer C. Shaffer. She is survived by her twin sons; Randy Shaffer and wife, Brenda, Steven L. Shaffer and wife, Johanna; granddaughters, Stephanie Shaffer, all of Lubbock, Stacy and husband Chris Comer, of Midland, Texas, Diedre Shaffer, of Albuquerque, NM; grandson, Jason and wife Katherine Moseley, of Amarillo, Texas, great granddaughters, Kennedi Comer, of Midland, Texas, Skout Moseley and Jayden Holt of Amarillo, Texas, Deianairah Shaffer-Bowen of Albuquerque, NM; grandsons, Jackson Comer, of Midland, Texas and many close friends she considered family.
