Michael was born in September of 1963 in Austin, Texas to Scotty Dean and Ouita Sue Lewis Oman.
He became one of the greatest blessings his family would ever receive. He moved to Lubbock in 1970 with his parents and older sister. Although he was born with Down Syndrome, that never stopped him from living a blessed and exciting life. He worked in the family business for over 35 years. He loved everyone unconditionally. He traveled frequently with his parents, loved country western music, seeing many live concerts. He bowled in Special Olympics for many years. Because he loved his life so much, with the help of a friend, he wrote a book in 2009 about his life and titled it “I Love My Life”.
In 2007 he met his girlfriend, Angie, and over the last eleven years, they have enjoyed many dances, birthdays, holidays and art classes together. Angie introduced him to contemporary praise music and he loved it even more than country western music. He was a faithful member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church and beloved member of the Harmony Sunday School Class.
He is preceded in death by his father, paternal and maternal grandparents.
Michael is survived by his mother, sister Neisha Neece (Mike), niece, Kristi Hill (Jeremy), nephew, Drew Neece (Chenoa), girlfriend, Angie Wood, six great-nephews and nieces, aunts, uncles and numerous friends.
