

Nellie was born August 11, 1918 in Clay County, Alabama to James Patrick and Effie Grace White.
Nellie moved from Alexander City, Alabama to Post, Texas in 1952 with her husband John L. Guy and three sons, Wade, Travis and Larry, where they both worked at the Post Cotton Mill.
In 1965 they moved to Lubbock and worked at the Texas Tech Textile research Center, where they both retired and then they made their home in Shallowater. John and Nellie enjoyed many things together. They raised show goats had cows, chickens and pigeons. They enjoyed dancing and fishing and took their motor home on many fishing trips.
Nellie was also very diligent to walk either outside or on a tread mill every day to maintain her health. She loved the outdoors, gardening, canning, crochet, ceramics, doll making and participated in craft shows. Nellie would try anything once.
She enjoyed Volunteering with Covenant Lakeside Ladies Auxiliary for many years as well as attending Senior Citizens Centers. However her greatest Accomplishment that brought her the most joy are her three sons and their families.
She was preceded in death by husband, John; Son, Travis and wife Judy, Brothers JP and Howard, sister Emma Lo Eston, Mavis Forrest, half sisters, Truman, Farrell, Mary and Mattie.
She is survived by her brother Don White Sons, Wade and wife Carol; Larry and wife Karen, 5 grandchildren Karla, Todd, Jada, Calvin, Ashley, 9 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11:30AM Monday at Resthaven Memorial Park.
