Nina Faythe Jones age 84. Beloved wife, mother,and grandmother went to her heavenly home on June 19th 2010 after a lengthy illness with cancer. Nina served as a WAC in WWII. And it was during that time she met her future husband Ed F. Jones. She gave her support to Ed as he embarked on 20 years active duty in the United States Air Force, and during his 18 years as Water Rec. supervisor here in Lubbock. They were married nearly 50 years before his passing in 1993. Nina also worked several years as a cook at Tubbs Elementary School. She is survived by her 4 children: Dr. Ed R. Jones of College Station, TX, Brad S. Jones of Lake Stevens, WA, Mary Cunningham of Lubbock, TX, and Cindy Jones of Dallas, TX. She will also be missed by her 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, her younger sister Sue Wicker of Katy TX and her 2 children and 6 grandchildren. Nina’s request was that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Texas Children’s Hospital. The memorial service for Nina will be 4 PM Saturday June 26th at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel.
