

Norma Lee Clodfelter passed away April 4th, 2012 at her residence in Lubbock at the age of 86. Services will be Saturday April 7th, at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel at 1 p.m. with Dr. D.L. Lowrie presiding. Norma was born December 16th, 1925 to parents Lee and Opal White in Vigo Park, Texas. She graduated from Tulia High School in 1943 and started Nursing School at Lubbock Memorial the same year. She finished up her training at Galveston Memorial graduating in 1945 with her RN degree.
She was a member of the Cadet Nurse Corp during this time. Norma began her nursing career at Lubbock Memorial in 1945 moving to Methodist Hospital when it opened. She also worked at hospitals in Muleshoe and Crosbyton retiring in 1999 after 54 years of active nursing. In 1950 she married Robert Clodfelter in Lubbock and they shared 47 years of marriage. Norma was active in Church choirs at First Baptist Lubbock and Slaton where she was a member. She had a wonderful voice and performed numerous solos and was a requested singer at weddings and funerals. Norma was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Marcielles Nolan, brother Clifton White, daughter in law Linda Clodfelter and an infant grandson Robert Clodfelter.
Survivors include sons; Lee of Lubbock, Tommy and wife Jill of Seagraves, and a daughter Kim Phelps of Lubbock, four grandchildren; Kelly Clodfelter, Shad and Shawn Teeter, and Kaylee Melton, four great grandchildren; Cayden, Ashlyn, Brayden and Connor.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday April 6th from 6-7:00 p.m. Our family would like the thank Dr. Rodriguez and the associations at Advanced Home Health and Hospice for the care given to our mother. Also, a special thanks to Glenda Watkins, mothers care giver.
