Patricia (Pat) Murray Day passed away Friday, January 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Pat was born August 23, 1936, in Memphis, Texas, to Frank and Opal Murray. She graduated from Hedley High school in 1952.
Pat Married Weldon Day on August 27, 1953. They celebrated 71 years on August 27, 2024. After her husbands five years of military service they moved to Clarendon, Texas. They later moved to Lubbock, Texas in 1966. Pat was a member of Lakeridge Methodist Church. She was a real estate agent in the 1980s and early 1990s. After retirement, Pat and Weldon spent several years traveling to various countries.
Pat was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was “Mapat.”
Pat is survived by her husband Weldon, her son David of Lubbock, her daughter Debbie Venegas and son-in-law Daniel of Wolfforth, Texas. Three Grandchildren, Dustin Venegas of Seattle, Washington, Julia McPeak of Youngsville, North Carolina, and Matthew Day of Lubbock, Texas and Three Great-Grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Wedgewood south assisted living and Grayce Hospice for the care of Pat.
In Lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations be made to Lubbock’s Meals on Wheels.
