Peter Charles Walz

Peter was born September 10, 1939 in Sleepy Hollow (North Tarrytown) N.Y. After graduating from Archbishop Stepinac High School he attended Fairfield University where he graduated in 1962.

Peter dedicated his life as a servant of the Lord including the Jesuit Societies in Grand Coteau, LA and Spring Hill College, AL. where he earned state teaching certificates in Library Science. He also attended Assumption Seminary in San Antonio, TX.

Peter was an active member in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church here in Lubbock, TX. He loved volunteering within the church as a Minister of Communion, week-end Sacristan, a member of the Serra Club, Guadalupanos, Usher, and any other job that needed doing. After retiring from a career with the Veterans Administration he also volunteered at Covenant Hospital.

He is survived by his brother, John Walz and his wife Donna, their son Jason Bosley and his wife Cindy, all of Lubbock, TX.

The Vigil will be held today, Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. At Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
