Randy was a hardworking man who devoted his life to his family, his faith, and his craft. After graduating from high school in Turkey, Texas, he attended college for welding and began his career as a bridge welder with BNSF Railroad. Following years of travel, he settled in Lubbock and later worked in maintenance at Sentry Properties, where he became known as someone who could fix just about anything.
In 1990, Randy met the love of his life, Brenda Janet McKinzie, and they were married on April 27, 1991. Together they built a life centered on love, faith, and family. He was a devoted father to Ashley, Skyler, and Hayley, and took great pride in the adults they have become.
Randy later found his calling in the plumbing industry, becoming a journeyman plumber and faithfully serving at Earl’s Plumbing until his retirement in December 2023.
He served selflessly as a deacon in his church and cherished his time in men’s Bible study. A man of quiet strength and few words, Randy had a wit that could bring a smile at just the right moment.
In his spare time, he enjoyed creating metal art, turning scrap pieces into meaningful works. In retirement, his greatest joy was time spent with his family—especially attending his grandchildren’s events.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Brenda Self and Jean Miller.
Randy is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda; his children, Ashley Howard and husband David, Skyler Green and wife Megan, and Hayley Barber; and his grandchildren, Hollyn, Hayes, Myrcea, Layton, Laryn, Landry, and Liberty, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his brother Jerry Green, sister Patricia Stoneman, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews who will cherish his memory.
Randy will be remembered for his steady presence, servant’s heart, quiet humor, and deep love for his family. His legacy lives on in all who knew and loved him.
