Richard Douglas “RD” Settle, 85, of Lubbock passed away on August 11, 2014 in Lubbock, Texas. The family will receive friends this evening for a visitation from 6 until 8pm at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Friday August 15, 2014 at 10:00 am in Resthaven Funeral Home’s Abbey Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Richard was born on November 18, 1928 in Plainview, Texas to the late Clarence and Lois(Chambers) Settle. He married the love of his life Mildred L. Cargill in Clovis, NM on June 3, 1950. He was a strong hardworking Christian man who loved the Lord. He was a member of Indiana Avenue Church of Christ. He retired from Cummins Sales and Service. He enjoyed any form of tinkering and making everyone he encountered smile with a joke.
He was preceded in death by 2 siblings.
He is survived by his wife of over 65 years Mildred Settle; three children Brenda Lofland, Barbara Morin( Moises), Randy Settle; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, four brothers, two sisters; a host of other relatives.
