Rick Soto

Rick Soto was a caring father, son, grandfather, brother, and friend. He passed peacefully with his family by his side on July 4, 2022. He was born to Rose Soto on October 23, 1959, in Lubbock, Texas.

Rick wasn’t a man of many words, but those who knew him well, will remember his infectious laughter, kind generosity and hardworking nature. He was a big movie fan and spent many Sundays taking his kids and grandkids to see the latest films. A lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, he cherished yearly trips to games with his sons, and even after some disappointing losses, his support never wavered, a true testament to just how stubborn he could be. Rick enjoyed taking his family on summer vacations and never missed an opportunity to spoil his grandkids.

His mother, Rose Soto preceded him in death.

Those left to honor his memory are his two sons, Chris (Jennifer) Soto and David (Brandi) Soto, a daughter, Melissa Thomas; a brother, Joe Soto; a sister, Nancy (Avel) Rocha; grandchildren, Madi, Jamie, Autumn, Dana, Jasmine, Eli, Emma, Jonathon, Brent, Heath, and Damian; along with many extended family and friends, and his two dogs that he loved dearly, Frankie and Sonny.

A memorial service to celebrate Rick’s life will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 11:00 am.

Dad, thank you for your unwavering love, and teaching us the importance of family. You will always be in our hearts.
