

Robert (Bob) Conway, 91, of Wolfforth died February 13, 2018, at his home. Services will be Friday at 2 pm at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel with interment following at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1 pm to 2 pm Friday at Resthaven.
Bob was born June 29, 1926, in Plymouth, Texas, in Collingsworth County. He graduated from Samnorwood High School in 1944. After graduation, he served his country in the army during World War II. He was in the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign serving with the 11th Airborne and 43rd Infantry divisions during the Philippine Island Liberation, serving also in the Japan homeland occupation with the 1st Cavalry Division. He was honorably discharged in 1946.
While enrolled in college at Lubbock, Bob met and married the love of his life, Wanda Louise Brown of Lubbock. They were married March 25, 1948. To this marriage union 4 children were born: Diann, Patricia, Darla and Michael.
Bob earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Technological College and later a Master of Education degree from Eastern New Mexico University. Later, his post-graduate studies at Texas Tech University were in Educational Psychology. Bob was a teacher and counselor, and his career included 34 years with the Levelland Public Schools.
Bob believed in and lived putting God and family first, then country, and all else would fit into its place. He was a member of the Church of Christ and served as an elder for a number of years.
Survivors are Bob’s wife, Wanda; daughters Diann Kemp, Patricia Browning, and Darla McLean; and son, Michael Conway. He leaves behind his precious and loving grandchildren and great grandchildren, and his sisters Betty Oswalt and Beth Clements.
