Robin Kay Smith left this life on November 16, 2025 at the age of 64. Robin was born on May 12, 1961 in Lubbock to Robert K. Smith, Jr. and Virginia D. (Jones) Smith. Both parents preceded her in death as did her half-sister, Jill (Smith) Olinger.
Aunt Robin never married but delighted her nieces and nephews with her silly antics. In her younger days, Robin was an avid runner and earned many trophies for her efforts. Robin began a career in nursing at an early age, starting as a candy striper when she was a teenager. Robin worked at Methodist/Covenant Hospital as a nursing assistant and nursing tech for many years until she was sidelined by a shoulder injury. Despite her disability, Robin actively cared for her father as he battled Alzheimer's disease until his death in 2005. Robin remained her mother’s constant companion before and after her father’s death. After being confined to a nursing home in 2021, Robin found purpose in helping other residents.
Robin is survived by a sister, Gay (Smith) Reed of Lubbock, and a brother, Kim Smith and wife Missy of Quanah, Texas. Robin is also survived by six nieces and two nephews along with fourteen grand nieces and nephews.
