Ruth B Beal

She was born March 26, 1927 in Rusk, Texas.

She married Raymond Beal on August 4, 1946 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Ruth and Raymond were long time Disciples of Christ having been charter members of Bethany Christian Church in 1949. Both Ruth and Raymond were dedicated stewards of the faith and enjoyed their friends and church family immensely.

Ruth was very involved in her three daughter’s activities,

which lead to years of PTA work serving as State President for several terms.

Ruth began a career at University of Corpus Christi in 1966 as assistant to the director of the library. She retired after 28 years. Ruth chose to pursue the ministry in 1978 serving congregations in Corpus Christi, Beeville, and Portland. She retired from the ministry in 2007.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters, her husband Raymond in 2010 and her daughter Jan Tortoriello in 2015.

Survivors include two daughters, Pat (Danny) Coleman of Wolfforth and Kae (Steve) Liles of Lubbock. She was further blessed with six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Also cherishing her memory is a sister, June Phillips of Atlanta, Texas.

Ruth’s family is eternally grateful for all the support that has been given to them in the last few years. Thank you is simply not enough for the gracious gestures of so many.
