Sammie Scott Norman

Texas, at age of 84 years of age.

Graveside services will be held at the Resthaven Memorial Park, on March 17, 2020, at 2pm, under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home, of Lubbock, Texas. Reverend Jesse Morton, pastor of Temple Baptist

Church, Stamford, Texas, will be officiating the service.

Sammie was born in Lubbock, Texas, on October 8, 1935. He was the son of Dick

and Wilmoth (McGuire) Norman. He married Betty Wright in Hurlwood, Texas in 1935. He married Christine Buchanan on May, 1995, in Snyder, Texas, and was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Scott Norman.

Sammie grew up in the Hurlwood Community, west of Lubbock, and graduated from Friendship High

School in 1954. He was interested in all sports, and traveled many miles to attend the games. He spent 3 three years as a member of the Army National Guard. He served as Postmaster of Hurlwood and Anton,Texas, before retiring from the Postal Service. He was a Baptist and attended church faithfully, loving Christian music, and his church families.

Mr. Norman is survived by his wife, Christine, of the home at Lake Stamford, Texas, where he loved to be; his daughter, Kimberly Currie and husband Bill of Lubbock; one grandson, Holden Norman; and two granddaughters, Kolby Williams, and Hailey Norman.
