Sherry Sue Clay

1943 in Wolfforth,TX; and entered into eternal rest on April 13, 2022 at the age of 79

She attended Frenship School in Wolfforth, TX, graduated from Merriman’s Business

School and attended Texas Tech.

She began a career with S.W.B.T. in 1968 and retired from AT&T in 1996.

She found her life partner in Larry Clay and they were married March 5, 1984.

She is survived by her husband and 3 children: Shaunah (David) McClanahan, ReDon

Perry, and Todd Perry all of Lubbock, TX as well as Larry’s three children, Christy (Tim)

Burrow, Candy Clay (and fiancé Paul Bauman) all of Victoria, TX and Craig Clay of

Lubbock; 8 grandchildren: Kimberly Daniel, Matt (Jackie) Daniel, Jeff (Alicia) McClanahan, Jordan

(Joseph Hulsey) McClanahan, Shaun Perry, Case Clay, Calin (Cody) Tackitt, and Robin

Clay; 11 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Vernon

(Diana) Rae of Colleyville, and Prestton Rae of Leander.

She was preceded in death by a beloved daughter and son in law, Hank & Alisa Daniel,

and 3 grandsons, Michael McClanahan, Caleb Daniel, and Zachary Clay.

She was introduced to Jesus by her grandmother in the Baptist Church and was a

member of Trinity Church since 1972. She was also a member of Elks Lodge #1348.

The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Thursday, April 21, 2022 with an 8am visitation, 9am Celebration of Life, and interment to follow.
