Tif was born and raised in El Paso, attending Mesita School and El Paso High School before studying engineering at Stephen F. Austin State University. His early years shaped a man who was endlessly curious, endlessly capable, and endlessly devoted to the people he loved.
He worked closely with his stepfather, Michael Tracy, in construction project management, a field where his natural problem-solving instincts and handson skill set flourished. His career took him across states and through remarkable projects—from NFL Network facilities and hotel developments in California to casino resorts in Oklahoma and Louisiana. But the work he treasured most was the time spent aggravating Bonnie, mentoring Munkee, and watching dashboard sunrises and sunsets on long drives while Jessica got her best sleep.
Tif met the love of his life, Bonnie, in California, where they married and began their family. They later moved to Lubbock to be closer to their daughter, Jessica, as she pursued her studies at Texas Tech University. Family was always at the center of his world.
To know Tif was to be changed by him. He loved horses and children, meeting both with patience, respect, and a gentle understanding that seemed instinctive. He was the person you brought an idea to and walked away with a plan. He made pancakes in the morning, blackberry cobbler at night, and a lasting impression every time in between.
Tif was a man of many trades—carpenter, welder, electrician, plumber, longhaul driver, laborer, chef, baker, loan officer, equipment operator, horse whisperer, tequila steward, grave digger, veterinarian, and, as Bonnie would say, her devoted partner in every sense. He was a MacGyver in boots, fixing what was broken, improving what wasn’t, and teaching Jessica to do the same. There wasn’t much he couldn’t do, and even less he wouldn’t try.
He is survived by his mother, Ginger Frost Tracy; his wife, Bonnie Frost; his daughter, Jessica Williams (Clayton); and his grandchildren, Wynn and Reese Williams. He is also survived by his siblings Ric Frost (Julia), Nan Smith (Daniel), and Adele Romero (Richard), along with their families.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Gordon Frost, and his stepfather, Michael Tracy.
Tif’s passing leaves a space that cannot be filled. His honesty, fairness, humor, and steadfast presence were the backbone of his family and a gift to everyone who crossed his path. His legacy lives on in the people he loved the projects he built, and the countless moments he shaped with his hands and his heart.
A celebration of life will be held on March 8, 2026, from 1-4pm at their residence please reach out to Jessica if you’d like to stop by.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to MD Anderson in Houston, TX in honor of Tif’s enduring spirit and generosity.
Al mal tiempo, buena cara. To bad times, a brave face.
