

Bill Bacon passed away on Thursday, June 28th after a brief illness. Bill was born December 31, 1933 in Seattle, Washington to William H. Bacon and Loretta Hamblin Bacon. He grew up in California and served in the United States Air Force. While stationed in Texas, he met Janette Shields and they were married November 13, 1954. They moved to Lubbock in 1961.
Bill was very active in the bowling community at the local, state and national level, formerly serving as the President of the Lubbock Bowling Association, Director of the American Bowling Congress, and was inducted into the state and local bowling hall of fame.
Bill is survived by his wife, Jan, daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Guy Parker, son and daughter-in-law Greg and Patty Bacon, daughter Cindy White, son and daughter-in-law Robert and Tracy Bacon and daughter and son-in-law Angie and Michael Canale, grandchildren Shea and Jenny Parker, Shane and Shelly Parker, Cole and Kim White, Ashley Parker, William Bacon, Cameron Allison, Matthew Bacon, Ben Bacon, Danielle White, Lauren Canale, Joel White, Candice Canale and Emily Bacon and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sister Juanita Robinson and sister and brother-in-law Dolores and Jay Bopp and sister-in-laws Annette Shields and Marjorie Shields and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at UMC for their exceptional care and compassion shown to Bill and his family.
A rosary will be held Sunday July 1, 2012 at 7 pm in Resthaven Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday July 2 at 2 pm in Christ the King Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
