Pops, was a awesome man, I pray for peace, strength, comfort, and remembering him with a smile and hug always. He was a strong man with great pride and love for you Memaw. I am so sorry for your loss, but God gained a great angel who showed us love always. Please my memories of Pops, I will always cherish.

Mel was a good Christian man and a friend. I will miss him. I told him I think of him every time I use the flyover on the southeast loop.  In only a Kingdom moment or two we will be Together again, Betty.

My prayers to all the Pope family at this difficult time. Mom so loved you and Betty and I still look fondly at the pictures of you and her at her 90th birthday party which I was so glad that you were able to attend. She really appreciated that. She and I both thought so highly of you. You are my second cousin and I so appreciated your warm smile every time I saw you. I will miss you and you will always be in my heart. God bless!

 I pray that God will provide the peace and comfort that only He can provide when a loved one dies.  I remember the entire family from Oakwood Methodist and many conversations with Mel when I would come back for a visit.  He was always interested in what was happening with others.  Mel was a faithful disciple and will be missed.

    I am so sorry to hear of Mel's passing. I missed having him greet me at church this morning. He will be greatly missed. My prayer for you is that you be at peace knowing that he's in Heaven (probably shaking hands with all the people he's meeting there.)

Betty, please know that my prayers are with you as you deal with this temporary separation from Mel. Some day you will have a happy reunion and you will not be separated again.  Mel was a special friend to Daddy and it is somewhat ironic that the Lord called them home on the same day.

I worked under Mel in the 70's and 80's and was honored to be associated with him.  He was a man of integrity and honesty.  He was an asset to the agency and it's employees.  RIP Mel, your job was always "well done".
