

Winnie Dee Roberts, lifelong resident of Lubbock, joined her Heavenly Father on September 14, 2013 at The Plaza in Lubbock. Services will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 in Resthaven’s Abby Chapel. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends on Tuesday,
September 17th from 6 – 8:00p.m. at Resthaven.
Born to Claude H. and Ruby Bell Bray on April 1, 1935, Winnie attended Bean Elementary, O L Slaton Middle School and Lubbock High School. She married Roy M. Roberts on April 4, 1953, and they were the parents of Claudia Roberts Duran and Jerry Don Roberts. She was predeceased by her son in 1975 and her husband in 1976, as well as her parents and a sister, Wanda Meyer.
Winnie is survived by her daughter, Claudia Duran of Abiqui, NM, a grandson, Kenny Hunnicutt and his wife, RaeAnn, two great grandsons, Braydun and Blayne Hunnicutt, all of Lubbock, and one sister, Opal Jean Lingo of Idalou. Winnie also considered Debra "Tootie" Keisling of Lubbock as a daughter and asked that she be included as part of her family.
Winnie was, first, a wife and mother but she worked outside the home at Alcoe Storm Door, as well as for American State Bank, retiring in 1999 after 23 years of service.
Prior to her passing, she requested that special thanks be extended to Robin Holder, Jana Henry, Mike Gaskins, and the many friends she made through Home Care Solutions and Meals on Wheels. Memorials may be directed to Meals on Wheels or the American Heart Association.
