
Anna Eileen Hasson, 83 died peacefully at her home March 15, 2014. She was born in Jersey City, NJ on Sept. 15, 1930, the first child of Malachy and Eileen Barry Tormey. She graduated from St. Aloysius Elementary School and was Salutation of the 1948 class at St. Dominic’s Academy Jersey City, NJ. She was employed in the payroll office Payroll office of Public Service Transportation Corp. in Newark, NJ
Anna and James J. Hasson were united in marriage on Sept. 13, 1952. They are the parents of James of Cavendish, Patrick of Milton, VT, Mary Cain of Brattleboro and Julie Von Turcke of Windsor, VT and the grandparents of Edward James “EJ” McCarthy, of Acton, MA, Matthew McCarthy, Martha’s Vineyard, MA, Kristopher Cain, Nicholas Cain and Austin “Teddy” Cain of Brattleboro, VT. Anna is also survived by her brother Lawrence and his wife Rosemary of NJ, her sister, Mrs. Joseph (Barbara) Mannion of NJ and nephews and nieces and their spouses in New Jersey.
Anna held offices in the Cavendish Town School PTA, Holy Name of Mary Altar Society, Church Organizations and the auxiliary of the Vermont Island X-1 Navy Seabee Veterans of America. She was often the voice answering the phone when clients called Town and Country Plumbing and Heating for service.
The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Holy Name of Mary R.C. Church, Proctorsville.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday March 21st from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Adams Funeral Home, 12 Meadow Street, Ludlow, VT.
