He was born April 5, 1934, in Albany, New York, to William J. Comstock Jr. and Thelma Finn Comstock.
Bill attended schools in Bethlehem and Delmar, New York, and then, Columbia University and Hobart College. While attending Hobart, he was as an All-American lacrosse player. Bill was a successful businessman in the Boston area for many years, as well as an entrepreneur owning his own envelope and printing business in Holliston, Massachusetts. One of his most proud accomplishments was working with, and for, the Brothers of the Weston Priory for 22 years.
Bill was predeceased by his son, William J. "Billy" Comstock IV, of Montville, Maine; and both of his parents, William J. Comstock Jr. and Thelma Finn Comstock, of Bethlehem, New York.
Bill is survived by Susan Revere Comstock, of Weston, Vermont, his beloved wife of 54 years. Their enduring and everlasting love is an inspiration and second only to his love of fishing, lacrosse, New England sports, especially The Boston Red Sox, The Weston Priory, family and friends.
He is also survived by his son, Scott Richard Comstock, and grandchildren, Eleanor Revere Comstock and Thea Trowbridge Comstock, of Scarborough, Maine; his sister, Brenda R. Clinton and family, of Plymouth, Massachusetts; sisters-in-law, Joanie Miller and family, of Boulder, Colorado, Diana Baysinger and family, of Chandler, Arizona, and Sally and Steve Hunt, of Yarmouth, Maine.
There is a service for Bill at the Weston Priory Barn Chapel on Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, at 1:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
