Memorial services will be 10:00 am Thursday September 1, 2011 at Gumpond Baptist Church, Lumberton for Mr. Walter L. Wells, 79, of Lumberton, Mississippi who died Tuesday August 30, 2011 in Wesley Medical Center, Hattiesburg. Brother Mark Longino will officiate at the service.
A native of Topeka, Kansas he was retired truck driver with the Teamsters Union and a member of Gumpond Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Lumpkin of Phillipsburg, Kansas, Bonnie Wells of Leadville, Colorado, and Kristine Kersh of Denver, Colorado; one brother, Wayne Wells of Stover, Missouri; two sisters, Shirley Doughty of Bisber, Arizona, and Darlene Thurman of Tuscon, Arizona; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Edith Larue Wells; one granddaughter, Danielle Brown; and one great grandson, Mark William Aaron.
