Huey Philip Melancon Sr.

Huey "Buddy" Philip Melancon, Sr. passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014 at the age of 83 years old. He is survived by his children; Raymond Phillip, James Allen Trevino, Diana Sue Cline, Yvonne Michelle Davis, Theresa Carlton, Ursula Ann Melancon, Huey P. Melancon, Jr. and the late Linda Melancon. A proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren: James Davis. Kimberly Carlton, Jerry Carlton, Holly Smith, Amanda Jem Melancon, Joshua Dane Kirkland, Jean Paul Walston, Justin Walston, Raellyn Walston and the late "Chrissy" Eveanna Christine Kirkland. A great grandfather of 6 great-grandchildren. Son of the late Justina Landry Melancon and George Melancon, Jr. Brother of Dudley Melancon, Rita Mae Lambert, Gladys Crower and the late Earline Labat, Velma Keller and Ulysses "Bobby" Melancon. A native of New Orleans, LA, and a lifelong resident of Gramercy, LA. "Buddy" served his county in the United States Army in Korea. After his service in the Army, he worked for Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Company and CII for over 25 years and retired. He enjoyed the outdoors watching people, smoking cigars and spending time with his family. The family would like to extend their thanks to the Doctors and Staff of Hospice Compassus, 8280 YMCA Plaza Suite 3B, Baton Rouge, LA 70810, for their compassionate care given to "Buddy". Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2130 Rectory St., Paulina, LA on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 11:00 am. Visitation from 9:00 AM until Mass time. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina, LA.
