She was born in Esserville on January 14, 1942, daughter of the late George Lee and Hazel Wilson Cassidy. She was very proud to be the daughter of a hard working coal miner and a beautiful, loveable mother whom we all miss dearly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, 2 brothers, Jim Cassidy, George A. Cassidy; 2 sisters, Shelby Black and Minnie Hicks as well as several nieces and nephews.
Anna was retired from HK Porter and was a member of Langhorne Chapel Community Church. She was an avid lover of nature, working in flower and vegetable gardens every chance she got as well as cooking for her family, friends and the church.
She is survived by her husband, James Richard Padgett to whom she had been married for thirty two years; 2 loving brothers, Bobby Cassidy and Wayne Cassidy and wife Margaret; 1 sister, Loretta Pape, who had been her caregiver since May and her husband Charles; 1 step brother, Roy Bolling, who had stayed in close touch; 2 step-daughters, Shirley Creasy, Angela Dilbeck and husband David;; 4 step-grandchildren, Jerimie Brooks, Jessie Burnette and husband Johnathan, Abigail Dilbeck, Leah Ann Dilbeck; 5 step-great grandchildren, Dayton Brooks, Cuyler Brooks, Keeley Burnette, Kharmin Burnette, and Kasen Burnette. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory, a high school friend, Judy Hughes and a good friend, Jeanette Martin.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to all the church friends who visited and prepared meals as well as Rebecca Kaiser, Sheila Griffin, and Kim Cratsenberg with Centra Hospice.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Rev. Dwight H. Weaver, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will received friends from 6 – 8 pm on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the funeral home.
