He was a quality control engineer with the Naval Nuclear Fuel Division of Babcock and Wilcox, and he served in the United States Army Air Corps in the China/Burma/India theater of World War II. As an engineer, his boundless curiosity was facilitated by his eye for detail. As a pilot, he was a man more comfortable in the sky than on the ground. He understood buoyancy and lift; he elevated everyone around him and was unflinchingly honest, treasuring his interaction with all individuals. We wish him well on his journey, and we send him off with abundant love.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Marcus Silver.
He is survived by his son, Alan Silver and his daughters, Samie-Lee Bright (James Bright), Doni Silver Simons (Steve Simons), and Jojo Elliott; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at the Beth Joseph Cemetery with Jan Levin officiating.
Donation in his memory may be sent to the Azy Silver Memorial Foundation, c/o Alan Silver, 260 Greenwood Rd., Madison Heights, VA 24572.
