Betty Page Lane

Betty Page Lane, 69, of Lynchburg, Virginia (formerly of the Manville community in Scott County), passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, after a courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer.

Born on August 28, 1956, in Kingsport, Tennessee, Betty was the daughter of the late Joseph W. and Ruby Wells Page. A 1974 graduate of Rye Cove High School, Betty began her career at Eastman Chemical Company at the age of 18 and devoted 41 years of service before retiring in 2015.

Betty was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her. With a warm heart, infectious smile, and kind spirit, she was beloved by many. She cherished time with family and friends and found joy in simple pleasures like sitting on the porch, watching hummingbirds, and playing puzzle and word games.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Danny Page.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Dwight Steven Lane; her dear daughters, Meghan Grant (Matt) and Mallory Eden (Ryan); and her precious grandchildren, Kiley and Parker Grant, who were her greatest blessings. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Pam and Rob Hager, Lynn and Walter Cassell, and Sharon Page; her aunt Reba Lovell (Glen); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

Throughout her long and difficult journey, Betty faced every challenge with bravery, grace, and unwavering optimism that inspired everyone around her. Though she lost her battle with cancer, she has gained the eternal victory of Heaven.

In keeping with her wishes, Betty will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who offered love, prayers, and support throughout Betty’s illness. Your kindness brought comfort and strength during the most difficult days. A special thank you is given to Dr. Millard and the staff at UVA Breast Care Center and Centra Hospice of Lynchburg for their exceptional care and dedication.
