

Betty Scott Pool, 82, went to be with her husband on Saturday September 13, 2014. She was born on January 22, 1932 to the late Joseph Gerald Scott and Willie Jackson Scott, and she was the beloved wife of the late Norris Dillard Pool.
Betty belonged to White’s United Methodist Church and worked at General Electric for 27 years as an assembly line worker.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty is preceded in death by her brother, Earl Scott.
She is survived by two daughters: Dale P. Torrence and her husband Bill of Lynchburg, and Sue P. Waddell and her husband Bobby of Appomattox; two brothers, the Rev. Richard Scott and his wife Blanche of Richmond, and Giles Scott of Lynchburg; five grandchildren: Joe and Casey Torrence, Susan and Jason Richards, Jeremy and Gina Waddell, Christopher and Billie Jo Waddell, and Nicholas and Sarah Waddell; eight great-grandchildren: Megan, Ellie, Riley, Ashlyn, Grey, Carter, Nash, and Avery; and four sisters-in-law: Alice Pool of Newport News, Kitty Conner of South Boston, Lois Pool of Brookneal and Pat Burnham of North Carolina.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 15, 2014 from 6 to 8 PM at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. Friends are also invited to visit the family at Sue’s home in Appomattox or Dale’s home in Lynchburg.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, September 16 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor Joe Torrence officiating. Interment will follow at White’s United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family respectfully requests that those in attendance dress in red.
