Bobbie Coggins Harper, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on March 5, 2024, at the age of 78 in Lynchburg, Virginia. She was born on June 11, 1945, to William Ray Coggins and Annie Burgess Coggins.
Bobbie was the loving wife of Lawrence Thomas Harper, and together they created a life filled with love and family. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Teresa H. Hunt and Belinda H. Bowman, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Joshua Blain Hill, Sarah Ann Jones, and Mark Edward Bowman. Bobbie's legacy extends to her great-grandchildren, Michael, Noah, Maverick, and Scarlett.
She is also survived by her brothers, Tommy Coggins and Robert Hamilton (Mery), and her sister, Mary C. Hatley (George). Bobbie was preceded in death by her brother, Jesse Coggins, and sister, Joann C. Golightly. She now joins her parents and husband, Lawrence Thomas Harper, in eternal peace.
Bobbie had a passion for various activities, including reading, crocheting, and enjoying the beauty of the mountains. She had a fondness for drinking Pepsi, being a dedicated homemaker, and taking care of her family. Bobbie stayed informed by keeping up with the news and had a playful side, enjoying playing the lottery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to American Legion Post #16 in Lynchburg Virginia and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org), causes that held a special place in Bobbie's heart.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 6 to 8 pm at Whitten Timberlake Chapel on Timberlake Road in Lynchburg, Virginia. The graveside service will take place at Spring Hill Cemetery on Fort Ave. Lynchburg on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 2 pm, with Pastor Marvin Buise officiating.
Bobbie Coggins Harper will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love and memories she created during her remarkable life.
