Calvin Joseph Glass, 75, of Lynchburg, died, Sunday, January 6, 2013, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Ollie Lawhorne Glass. Born December 16, 1937, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Charlie Booker Glass and the late Clara Belle Phelps Glass.
Calvin was a plumber for Southern Air, and he served our country in the U.S. Navy.
In addition to his wife and parents, Calvin was preceded in death by four siblings, Dorothy Glass Holloran, Walter Allen Glass, Harold Franklin Glass, Sr. and Carlton Glass.
Calvin is survived by one sister, Pearl G. Cumbie of Saxe; his niece, Tracy Glass; and his nephews, Frank Glass and Jonathan Glass.
A graveside service will be conducted 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 10, 2013, at Presbyterian Cemetery with the Rev. Ronnie Freeman officiating. Military Honors will be presented by the American Legion Post 16.
The family will receive friends, 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel.
